A housing association required building maintenance information to be updated on its own management systems by a contractor. The nature of the organisation meant that the association was very concerned about giving the contractor access to its own network using a virtual private network.
To address this concern Modus developed a series of web applications which allow the contractor and the association to exchange data securely without the need for either to grant direct access to their own network.
This was an excellent example of how businesses can use the Internet to pass data between suppliers, associates or clients without incurring the cost or the increased security risks of running a VPN.
