Developing new software within your department
Developing a system for an SME is a relatively easy task. It is easy to get a decision on what is needed and whose budget is going to pay for the work. In large companies the problems are more complicated. There are IT departments who for very good reasons need to control what software operates on their networks. The problem is that this can drive the cost of new software up to the point where what was a very simple, cheap system becomes prohibitively expensive.
There is an alternative for developing software at a branch or departmental level.
By designing an application to be web based it is possible to test and operate the system on our own servers while your users gain access from any internet enabled computer. Fast, low cost broadband internet access makes this approach one of the easiest and most cost effective solutions to developing a new system. New versions can be uploaded instantly and because no one needs to visit your site to install software on servers and PCs costs are reduced even further.
Once the system has been developed and proven then it can be transferred to your company’s own web servers if that is the most cost effective long term approach.
Sounds far-fetched?
We are already doing this for a number of refineries, NHS Trusts and local authorities.
