Get the strategy right

Time and more importantly money can be saved if you get your IT strategy right from the start. Many smaller companies think that such talk is either from consultants trying to make money for themselves or something that only helps big companies. Neither of these needs to be the case.

It always helps to get a picture of where you and your company are going before you invest in new hardware or systems. Spending just a few hours studying how your company may develop and grow will let you formulate a plan which fits your budget now while minimising wasted work and more importantly wasted money.

Your strategy should consider all aspects of your business. Think about these as a starting point:

  • Specifying hardware and software with a view to minimising the total cost of ownership
  • How remote access for staff could be used to your advantage
  • Using the Internet to manage client communications
  • How can software be purchased to take advantage of manufacturers’ volume discounts?
  • Custom software solutions – can your company’s needs be served by off the shelf products or are bespoke software systems required?
  • Where mobile computing would improve information management

There are many aspects to getting the strategy right. The important part is to make sure it fits you and not what worked for someone else.

We like to think we can help you with that.
