Deal With Existing Data

It would be easy if we were starting from scratch

But we never are. Many organisations have decades’ worth of survey reports, air tests, samples and the rest. It was hard enough doing all that once so we don’t want to do it again.

Modus has over 25 years experience in helping companies of all sizes make sense of what they already have and importing it to AIMS, regardless of the format.

  • Import your existing data
  • Quickly
  • Without losing anything

How are you managing just now?

Every organisation has a slightly different approach to managing asbestos but in our experience they fall into four broad categories. Each one presents its own challenges when transferring the data to a new system. At Modus we have developed techniques to make the process of implementing a new asbestos management system as easy as possible.

An existing software system

If you are already using a database regardless of how old then it is almost always a painless exercise to transfer the data taking little time.

Files such as photographs, sample analysis sheets and removal information can also be imported at the same time.

Spreadsheets

Most organisations have developed their own data management processes using spreadsheets either populated by themselves or provided by their survey company.

Modus is able to work with these spreadsheets modifying them where necessary to allow the data to be imported with little further effort.

Electronic documents

Often survey companies have delivered your survey reports as .pdf documents.

Depending upon the layout and content of these reports we are able to pull key information from the documents into AIMS with little effort.

Hard copy reports

Some companies are still managing using hard copy reports. These are the hardest to import and there is often no alternative to manually transcribing the information from the page to the screen.

Modus has developed a suite of tools that allow us to carry out this work very quickly and accurately.
